This series is a good start for those at the upper intermediate level. The grammar isn’t too difficult to understand.

Since the magic/religion system is inspired by western fantasy (namely Dungeon & Dragons), readers, therefore, don’t need the amount of cultural understanding as they would for pure Chinese fantasy.

One difficulty that could occur is translating Western-sounding fantasy names into Chinese. But you’ll quickly get used to it, and people are often addressed by their (much easier) titles.

This is a Taiwanese novel which was first released with traditional Characters and later published in simplified Chinese.
