微信读书 is a popular native digital book and audiobook service by the people behind WeChat (微信). The service also offers the ability to upload and read your own epub/pdf/txt files, allowing you to make use of their high-quality AI text-to-speech. You can see this as similar to Amazon Kindle, Google Books and Apple Books.

WeChat (微信) is the only login method. An account is required to access content beyond the sample chapters, purchase content and collect regular free goodies.
Note: Most webnovels from 起点文学网 are not included in any memberships service and must be purchased with credit.
微信读书 offers many books, webnovels and audiobooks for free through an easily obtainable free membership, called 体验卡 (“discovery card”). This membership allows access to a limited subset of books and webnovels. Once the membership expires, you won’t have access to any previously read chapters unless they’ve been bought with credit (书币).
